A beautiful little city, that looks like a postcard.

ITA: Pochi giorni a disposizione e tanta voglia di partire? Ci sono moltissime mete interessanti a poca distanza dall’Italia…Lucerna è una di queste, 3 ore da Milano.  Situata nel centro-nord del paese, sulle rive nord-occidentali del Lago dei Quattro Cantoni, è uno dei poli turistici più visitati, anche grazie al fatto che riesce a combinare la vivibilità della città alla presenza della montagna e di una serie di percorsi per chi ama la natura.

ENG: Do you have a few days to spend and you are so eager to go? There are a lot of interesting destinations close to Italy… Luzern is one of these, 3 hours from Milan. Located in the center-north of the country, on the north-west shores of the Four Cantons lake, is one of the most visited tourism sites, combining the high liveability of the city to the presence of mountains and some hiking paths for people loving the nature.

ITA: Il centro della città è davvero delizioso, una serie di eleganti vie e stradine che  si intersecano, sfociando in bellissime piazze che fungono da punto di aggregazione. Su di esse si affacciano moltissimi edifici storici, dai colori tenui ed omogenei, alcuni di essi presentano dei pregevoli affreschi d’epoca… sembra davvero di essere all’interno di una cartolina. Al tutto si aggiungono le insegne tipiche in ferro battuto, che ci fanno tornare un pò indietro nel tempo.

ENG: The city center is really lovely, with a series of elegant little streets intersecting each other, leading to beautiful squares, the focal point for people, always meeting there. On these squares a lot of historical buildings with pastel and homogeneous colors look out, some of those also show gorgeous ancient frescoes… you will feel like being inside of a postcard. All this adds up to the typical wrought iron signs, that throw us back through time.

ITA: Un altro modo interessante per vivere la città è quello di concedersi una crociera sul lago: ci sono molti battelli sui quali potete anche pranzare… proprio come abbiamo fatto noi.
Il giro dura un paio d’ore, è bellissimo ammirare il paesaggio che si apre, se il cielo è abbastanza limpido potete addirittura vedere le pendici delle montagne che lentamente digradano. Il cibo servito a bordo è buono, con un’attenzione anche ai prodotti locali, il che rende questa un’esperienza davvero completa.

ENG: Another nice way to live the city at his bes his to go for a cruise on the lake: there are a lot of ferries where you can also have lunch… we chose this option.
The tour takes a couple of hours, it’s just gorgeous to look  at the scenery opening up, if the sky is clear enough you can also see the slopes of the mountain slowly degrading.  The food served onboard is good, with particular attention to local products, that makes the experience even better.

ITA: Lucerna non smette di sorprendere… perchè, vi chiederete. A meno di un’ora dal centro cittadino potete raggiungere il rifugio panoramico del Monte Pilatus, uno dei luoghi più amati della Svizzera centrale, tappa davvero obbligata se vi trovate a passare da quelle parti.
Il Pilatus dall’alto dei suoi 2000 metri domina imponentemente la città, arrivarci è semplicissimo attraverso le due cabinovie che vi porteranno in vetta in circa 30 min, oppure da Alpnachstad con la ferrovia a cremagliera più ripida del mondo.
Solo la salita è un’esperienza davvero mistica: un’atmosfera surreale, il tutto condito da una foschia che, pian piano, rivela la maestosa cima, lasciandoti a bocca aperta.

ENG: Luzern doesn’t stop giving… why, will you ask? Less than one hour from the city center you can easily reach the panoramic refuge of Mount Pilatus, one of the most beloved places in central Switzerland, a necessary stop if you are passing through there.
Pilatus, from above his 2000 meters, massively fronts the town, reaching it is very easy through two gondolas that will bring you to the top in about 30 min. or from Alpnachstad  with most steep rail mounted train of the world.
The climb itself is a mistical experience: the atmosphere is surreal, everythng tied up with some mist, slowly revealing the impressive top, that leaves you breathless.
