NIKE AIR FORCE 1: MY FAVE TRAVELLING SHOES

Negli ultimi anni ho viaggiato parecchio e quando si tratta di scegliere cosa mettere in valigia faccio molta attenzione alle scarpe che devono essere stilose ma al tempo stesso comode, dato che cammino moltissimo. Le Nike Air Force 1 sono spesso la mia scelta preferita.

Concepite da Bruce Kilgore nel 1982 come scarpa da basket le Nike AF1 sono una vera e propria icona pop, un evergreen che originariamente prese il suo nome dall’aereo presidenziale. Mi piace la loro vena casual/lifestyle e l’estetica semplice e pulita che le rende perfette per essere indossate dalla mattina alla sera, in qualsiasi occasione, con dei pantaloni o, perchè no, con un vestito.

La storia che raccontano è lunga e importante, soprattutto dal punto di vista culturale: l’influenza che ebbero sia sul mondo hip-hop underground sia su quello fashion è davvero incredibile: nessun’altra sneaker è stata disegnata in così tanti modi diversi, sempre mantenendo la stessa struttura senza tempo e le stesse perfette linee. Sapevate che Nike , ad un certo punto, stava pensando di ritirare il modello dal mercato ma grazie ai fan di Baltimora non lo fece? Ecco quanto questa scarpa fu ed è apprezzata.
Nike inoltre era solita prestare le AF1 ai giocatori, affinchè le provassero e testassero sul campo… sapete che piaceva così tanto che i giocatori stessi si rifiutavano di restituire i campioni?
Il successo si diffuse poi ad Harlem, quartiere di New York dove le AF1 divennero così popolari da prendere il soprannome di “uptowns”, diventando quindi il simbolo della cultura pop: personaggi come Jay-z e gli “original six” (Moses Malone, Michael Cooper, Calvin Natt, Bobby Jones, Jamaal Wilkies, Mychael Thompson) le indossavano.

Credo che queste scarpe siano perfette per viaggiare, vediamo perchè.
Prima di tutto sono estremamente comode grazie alla tecnologia Nike Air Sole che le rende leggere, comode e ottime per i piedi.

Il design è un classico che non va mai fuori moda e potete scegliere tra circa 2000 colori e moltissime collezioni esclusive… la mia preferita è la versione bianca, stilosa e urbana (attualmente nella top 5 delle scarpe più vendute di sempre). Adoro metterle in valigia perchè stanno bene con tutto e danno un tocco in più ad ogni look.

Un altro aspetto interessante è che si può personalizzare le proprie AF1… io l’ho fatto e ho ottenuto il mio design, unico al mondo. L’intero procedimento è stato molto divertente, una vera esperienza che ti mette nei panni di un designer di scarpe.

Oggi le Air Force 1 sono ancora una scarpa trendy e cool, la leggenda va avanti con nuove reinterpretazioni del classico che lo rendono contemporaneo e amato dalle nuove generazioni e dalla cultura underground.

I’m always traveling the world and when it comes to pick the right clothes to pack in my suitcase I always pay attention to shoes, that need to be stylish but also comfortable since I’m used to walk a lot. Nike Air Force 1 are often one of my choices.

Originally designed by Bruce Kilgore in 1982 as a basketball shoe Nike AF1 are a true pop icon, an evergreen product, getting the name from the presidential plane . I love the casual/lifestyle vibe and the easy and clean aestethic that makes them perfect to be wore from day to night, for any occasion, with some pants or maybe with a dress.

The history they carry is long and important, also by a cultural point of view: the influence they got is crazy both in the hip-hop and underground world both in the fashion universe: no other sneaker has been designed in so may different ways, always keeping the same timeless structure and the same perfect lines .
Did you know that Nike, at a certain point, was thinking of withdrawing the model from the market but thanks to the Baltimora fans they didn’t? That’s how much this shoe was and is loved.
Nike also used to give the AF1 to players to test it out… you know what? They liked it so much that often refused to give samples back.

So in my opinion these shoes are perfect for traveling, let’s see why.

The design is a classic, never going out of style, and you can choose among almost 2000 colors and a lot of exclusive collections… my fave is the white version, super stylish and sleek (in the top 5 of best selling ever shoes, not by chance). I love to pack Nike AF1 because they look great with everything and spice up your outfit.

Another great aspect is that you can customize your own Air Force 1… I did it and got my one and only design which is unique in the world. The whole process was really funny, like a real experience that puts you in the shoe of a designer.

So today AF1 is still a very trendy and cool shoe, the legend goes on and on with new takes on the classic that make it contemporary and loved by new generations and who’s in the urban culture.
With AF1 you will definitely rock the streets!
