Durante la settimana della moda milanese, tra i vari show a cui ho avuto il piacere di assistere,
sono rimasta particolarmente colpita dalla collezione di Roberto Musso,
il quale si è gentilmente prestato a soddisfare qualche mia piccola curiosità….
scopriamo insieme il suo mondo elegante ma dal twist mai scontato.

During the Milan fashion week, among the many shows I had the pleasure to attend,
I was particularly  moved by Roberto Musso‘s collection, who kindly offered to  satisfy
a few  of my curiosities…
let’s discover together his elegant  but never predictable world.

Qual è il processo creativo che porta alla realizzazione della collezione?
Which is the creative course which leads to the making of the collection?

R:Il processo creativo è un continuo divenire  che si sviluppa nel mentre.
Si parte dalla ricerca di tessuti innovativi e di qualità, reperibili con una certa velocità.
Si passa quindi al lavoro sul manichino, minuzioso ed attento, arrivando poi all’approccio
nei confronti della storia visiva, quella che andrà in scena in sfilata, l’ultimo step.
Esiste sempre un forte conflitto tra la creatività e l’atto pratico, da un lato c’è l’immaginazione,
il feeling con quello che si fa, dall’altro il mercato, e con esso la sua rigida praticità.

R: The creative course it’s a continuous becoming which develops  in the meantime.
Everything starts from the research of innovative and quality fabrics, quickly available.
Then  there is the work on mannequin, meticulous and careful, coming then to the approach
on the  fashion story, the one which will be showed during the runway, the last step.
There is always a strong clash between creativity and practice, on one hand there’s imagination,
feeling with what you do, on the other hand the  marketplace and his pragmatism.

Cosa significa essere designer  nel panorama di oggi?
What does it mean to be a designer today?

R: La possibilità di fare un lavoro che si ama è un lusso, essere un designer significa avere passione.
Ma per durare nel tempo non bisogna essere “chiassosi”, non bisogna far spegnere la scintilla.
Nei miei capi utilizzo il “dipinto a mano” per enfatizzarne l’identità: il risultato?
Un capo semplice ma con un dettaglio di stile.

R: The chance to do a work that you like it’s something luxurious, being a designer means to have passion.
But to last in time you should not  be “loud”,  you should not let the glimmer  weaken.
In my clothes I use “hand painted” to emphasize the identity: the result?
A simple garment, but with a detail of style.

Which kind of woman is the woman of Roberto Musso?

R: Le parole d’ordine sono sobrietà, eleganza, raffinatezza.
Una donna sofisticata che non grida, resta sempre la stessa ma
con carattere e con stile, interpretando una femminilità mai ostentata.

R: The main words are moderation, elegance, refinement.
A woman which is sophisticated but who never yells, she’s always the  same
but with character and style, enacting a never showed off femininity.
