Sørvágsvatn

Si tratta del lago più grande dell’arcipelago, raggiungibile a piedi dopo una camminata di 60/80 minuti, un bello sforzo ma nonappena raggiungerete la vetta il panorama vi ripagherà di tutta la fatica.

This is the biggest lake of  the archipelago, you can reach it after walking for 60/80 minutes, quite an effort but as soon as you reach the top the view will pay you back.

Slættaratindur

La vetta più alta delle Faroe, maestosa ed imponente. abbiamo provato a scalarla, non siamo riusciti a raggiungere la cima, dato che si tratta di un’escursione molto complicata e faticosa, ma siamo comunque molto soddisfatti del punto a cui siamo arrivati… la sensazione che si può avere da lassù è qualcosa di indescrivibile.

The highest mountain of Faroe, majestic and  imposing, we tried climbing, but we didn’t reach the top, it is a really complicated and tiring hiking, anyway we are proud  of what we did… the  feeling you can have climbing this mountain is something beyond words.

Gásadalur

Un altro splendido punto panoramico che potete facilmente raggiungere tramite il suo sentiero, così da avere  davanti a voi questa meravigliosa cascata che si getta nel mare. Noi abbiamo avuto la fortuna di capitare durante una splendida giornata, con tanto di arcobaleno, vi assicuro che è stato fantastico. Se siete stanchi dopo il lungo camminare non preoccupatevi, c’è una deliziosa panchina sulla quale potete rilassarvi.

Another gorgeous view you can easily reach through his path, so you will find in front of you this amazing waterfall, falling into the sea. We had the lucke to happen during a beautiful day, there was even a rainbow reflecting into the water… it was fantastic. And if you are tired after the long walks don’t worry, there’s a lovely  bench where you can relax.

Mykines

La più affascinante delle 18 isole che compongono le Faroe, la cui sagoma si staglia con forza all’orizzonte. Prende il nome dal villaggio stesso che su di essa è presente,  abitato da solo 10 persone con 40 case in tutto… vale la pena dedicare un’escursione a questo luogo magico e  senza tempo.

The most fascinating of the 18 islands  of Faroe, her silhouette stands with strengh on the horizon. She takes the name from the village itself, populated by only 10 people, with 40 total houses… it’s really worth to dedicate an hiking to this magic and timeless place.

Funningur

Un piccolissimo villaggio situato in un’ampia e meravigliosa vallata. Noi lo abbiamo raggiunto in macchina e durante il tragitto abbiamo potute godere lo spettacolo delle sue fantastiche strade che solcano la montagna, un piacere per la vista e per la mente, un viaggio che aprirà i vostri orizzonti.

A small village located in a wide and gorgeous valley. We reached it by car and during the trip we enjoied the view of the amazing streets cutting through the mountain, a pleasure for the eyes and for the mind, a travel which will open your  horizons.

Tórshavn

La capitale delle Isole Faroe è una tranquilla cittadina, perfettamente a misura d’uomo. Ci sono molti ristoranti e molti posti carini dove poter bere qualcosa, inoltre i quartieri tipici sono davvero deliziosi, meritano di certo una visita. Potete facilmente spostarvi a piedi, le distanze sono brevi e percorribili. Una particolare menzione va fatta allo stadio, che abbiamo visitato: una struttura ariosa e moderna degna di una città che offre ai suoi abitanti tutto quello di cui hanno bisogno.

The capital of Faroe Islands is a quite city, people friendly. There are many restaurants and lovely places where you can drink something, moreover the typical districts are really lovely, they deserve a visit. You can easily move around by feet, the city is quite walkable. A particular  mention goes to the stadium, that we visited: a modern and big building, worthy of a city that offers to her people all what they need.

Saksun

La casetta più famosa delle Faroe! Dopo aver sbagliato strada diverse volte siamo finalmente riusciti a raggiungerla. Ci siamo dovuti inerpicare, sfidando acqua, fanghiglia, pendici scoscese e capre, per poi ritrovarci in questa meravigliosa porzione di terra, un bacino riparato dal mondo circostante, isolato e silenzioso.

The most famous little house of Faroe! After missing the way for several times we finally reached it. We had to climb, challenging water, slurry, cliffs and sheeps, finding then ourselves in this amazing land, a lagoon hidden from the world, isolated and silent.

Gjógv

Gjógv è decisamente strano e surreale, può provocare sensazioni contrastanti. Noi abbiamo fatto tappa, fermandoci a mangiare in un rustico ristorantino che serve cibo tipico… tra una zuppa ed un crostino ci siamo goduti il panorama, l’arietta fresca ed il silenzio che solo questi posti possono offrire.

Gjógv is quite strange and surreal, it can give different feelings. We stopped during our trip, just to eat something in a typical restaurant serving local food… between a soup and a grilled bread we enjoied the view, the fresh air and the silence that only these places can offer.

Roads

La nostra scelta di girare le isole in macchina è stata dettata anche e soprattutto dal fatto che le strade sono assolutamente meravigliose e si può godere di panorami incredibili semplicemente affacciandosi dal finestrino. Il mio consiglio quindi è: tenete gli occhi aperti, guardate, cogliete ogni singolo colore, respirate i profumi, ascoltate i suoni… non lasciatevi sfuggire nessuna meravigliosa sensazione.

Our choice to go around for the islands with the car was also and mostly dictated by the fact that streets are absolutely beautiful and you can enjoy incredible landscapes only looking out the window. My tip is: keep your eyes open, watch, catch every single color, breathe the smells, listen to the sounds… don’t  miss any wonderful feeling.

Tjørnuvík

Altro villaggio molto carino che ci è capitato di incontrare per strada. D’obbligo fermarsi e fare una passeggiata sulla bianchissima sabbia della spiaggia, vi sembrerà quasi di trovarvi su un atollo  di qualche isola tropicale.

Another cute village that we happened to met on the road. You must stop and take a walk on the white sand of the beach, you will feel like on a tropical island  atoll.
