7 giorni alla scoperta di una Svizzera inesplorata!
7 days discovering a totally unexplored Switzerland!

 

ITA: 2 maggio 2019, tutto pronto per partire alla scoperta della Svizzera. Valigia (abbastanza leggera ed essenziale), zaino ed abbigliamento comodo per affrontare camminate ed escursioni.
Raggiungere la destinazione partendo da Milano è decisamente facile, Eurocity 14 – Chiasso e da li abbiamo preso un altro treno per Capolago-Riva S.Vitale.
Prima tappa Mendrisio,  Monte Generoso.
Il Mendrisiotto  è una meta dalle mille sfaccettature, un luogo tutto da scoprire: una delle sue zone più affascinanti è sicuramente quella del Monte Generoso con i suoi sentieri adatti sia ai principianti sia agli esperti camminatori.
E’ assolutamente d’obbligo prendere il trenino a cremagliera, che da oltre 125 anni parte da Capolago sul lago di Lugano per raggiungere la vetta a 1704 m percorrendo 9 km attraverso la pittoresca cornice montana del parco naturale… vi sembrerà di fare un salto nel passato!
Pausa pranzo al ristorante del Fiore di Pietra, un’opera architettonica unica nel suo genere, realizzata da Mario Botta. E’ posizionato proprio sul ciglio della roccia e dalla terrazza  si gode di un panorama incantevole su tutta la regione. Qui abbiamo degustato i veri sapori, quelli tipici della zona, preparati per noi dallo chef Luca Bassan.
Siamo quindi partiti per la nostra escursione. scendendo attraverso il Monte Generoso. Il tutto è durato circa 3 ore, la passeggiata è stata piacevole e non troppo impegnativa, i panorami mi hanno davvero stupita: consigliatissima anche se non siete esperti di trekking.

ENG: 2nd of May 2019, everything is ready to leave and discover Switzerland. Suitcase ( light enough and essential), backpack and comfy clothes to face walkings and hikings.
Reaching the destination leaving from Milan is quite easy, Eurocity 14 – Chiasso and then we took another train to Capolago-Riva S.Vitale.
First stop Mendrisio, Mount Generoso.
Mendrisiotto is a multi-faceted area, beautiful to discover: one of the most fascinating places is for sure the Mount Generoso with his paths suitable for beginners but also for experienced trekkers.
You absolutely need to take the rack railway, that  for 125 years now has been running along a picturesque nine-kilometre stretch of mountain scenery in the  nature park, from Capolago on Lake Lugano to the Monte Generoso summit at 1,704 m altitude… you will feel like diving into the past!
Lunch break at the Fiore di Pietra restaurant, a one of a kind architectural masterpiece, designed by Mario Botta. Is located right on the edge of the rock and from the terrace you can enjoy a charming view on all the region. Here we tasted the real flavours, the typical ones, prepared for us by the chef Luca Bassan.
Then we left for the excursion, going down through Monte Generoso. The whole thing lasted about 3 hours, the walking has been really pleasant and not so tiring, I’ve been amazed by the landscapes: recommended even if you’re not experienced trekkers.

ITA: Altro giorno, nuovi spostamenti.
Seconda tappa! Oggi prendiamo il treno da Riva S.Vitale per andare a Bellinzona.
L’attività prevista è un altro trekking, questa volta al monte Curzùtt, per raggiungere il bellissimo Ponte Tibetano. Si tratta di una passeggiata collinare di circa quattro ore, in una regione che si affaccia sul Piano di Magadino dalla sponda destra del fiume Ticino. Abbiamo camminato tra la verdeggiante vegetazione, respirando a pieni polmoni e vedendo diversi punti di interesse.  Alla fine del percorso si viene ripagati con il passaggio  su uno dei ponti tibetani più lunghi della Svizzera (270 metri). L’escursione non è immediata, quindi la consiglio se avete un minimo di resistenza fisica… io ne sono uscita duramente provata!
Ci siamo fermati per pranzo in un ristorantino in mezzo alla natura, un posto perfetto per ricaricare le batterie, quindi siamo scesi a Bellinzona prendendo questa volta la cabinovia, direttamente dal ristorante.
A Bellinzona abbiamo pernottato all’Hotel & Spa Internazionale, situato in una posizione estremamente comoda,  davanti alla stazione. Lo staff ci ha accolto benissimo, facendoci trovare in camera il cioccolato svizzero… essenziale e assolutamente gradito!
Non abbiamo avuto moltissimo tempo per esplorare la cittadina, il centro è piccolo ma caratteristico e il Capoluogo del Canton Ticino è caratterizzato da una triade di castelli-fortezze del Medioevo conservati benissimo, inseriti nel patrimonio mondiale dell’UNESCO: abbiamo cenato proprio in uno di questi, al Grotto San Michele, situato all’interno delle mura del Castelgrande, uno scenario elegante e suggestivo.

ENG: Another day, new whereabouts.
Second stop! Today we take the train from Riva S.Vitale to Bellinzona.
The intended activity is another trekking, this time to monte Curzùtt, to reach the beautiful Tibetan Bridge. This four-hour walk in the hills along the right bank of the Ticino River, in the region facing the Magadino Plain, does not only offer a beautiful scenery. We walked across the green nature, fully breathing and also boasting several points of interest.At the end you will feel the thrill of crossing one of the longest Tibetan bridges in Switzerland (270 metres). The excursion is not immediate, I recommend this kind of path if you already have some physical resistance…I came through harshly tried!
We stopped for lunch in a lovely restaurant in the middle of the nature, perfect to recharge the batteries, then we came back to Bellinzona with the Gondola going down to the city, straight from the restaurant.
We slept  at the Hotel&SPA Internazionale, which is extremely comfy, in front of the station. We’ve been very well received by the staff, making us find swiss chocolate in our room… essential and absolutely appreciated!
We didn’t have so much time to explore Bellinzona, the city centre is small but typical and the main town of Canton Ticino is characterized by a triad of castels – fortresses of Middle Ages, very well preserved and UNESCO World Heritage: we had our dinner right in one of these, at the Grotto San Michele, inside the walls of Castelgrande, an elegant and suggestive scenery.

ITA: Terza tappa, in viaggio verso Brunnen!
Ore 9.56, si parte da Bellinzona in direzione Fluelen. Da Fluelen quindi prendiamo il Gotthard Panorama Express fino a Brunnen.
Posso affermare con tranquillità che questo tragitto in treno è stata una delle esperienze più indimenticabili di tutto il viaggio: immaginate di attraversare  paesaggi pittoreschi a bordo di una carrozza panoramica sulla tratta storica del San Gottardo, con una serie di gallerie elicoidali e ponti che si snodano in un ambiente  da sogno. In più c’è una vera e propria carrozza fotografica in cui si possono aprire i finestrini… inutile dire che l’abbiamo sfruttata per scattare delle foto meravigliose!
Arrivati a Brunnen abbiamo fatto il check-in all’Hotel Waldstatterhof, che si affaccia sul magnifico lago dei 4 cantoni, una posizione esclusiva, un luogo che ti mette in pace con il mondo.
Durante il pomeriggio è stata pensata per noi un’attività molto divertente, siamo infatti stati invitati al Museo Victorinox Italia  per imparare ad assemblare il nostro personalissimo coltellino svizzero… adesso che ne ho uno non posso più farne a meno!
Ovviamente abbiamo avuto il tempo di visitare uno dei musei più importanti, qui abbiamo scoperto qualcosa di più sulla storia Svizzera, eternamente sospesa tra leggenda e realtà, battaglie mitologiche non realmente avvenute, ma che tuttora si studiano a scuola…curioso, no?

ENG: Third stop, traveling to Brunnen!
9,56 am, we left from Bellinzona heading to Fluelen. Then from Fluelen we take the Gotthard Panorama Express to Brunnen.
I can confidently say that this train ride has been one of the most unforgettable experiences of all my journey: imagine to go through picturesque sceneries on board of a panoramic carriage  on the historical route of San Gottardo, with a series of tunnels circle and bridges unwinding into a dreamy place. Moreover there’s a photography carriage where you can open the windows… it goes without saying that we used it to shot some amazing pictures!
Once in Brunnen we checked-in at Waldstatterhof Hotel, facing the beautiful lake of 4 cantons, in a exclusive position, a place that puts you at peace with the world.
During the afternoon  a quite funny activity has been planned for us! We’ve been invited to the Victorinox Italia Museum to learn how to assemble our personal Swiss Army Knife… now that I have one I can’t help myself anymore!
Of course we also had the time to visit one of the most important museums, here we learnt something more about the Swiss history, eternally suspended between legend and reality, mythical battles that have not really happened  but that are still studied at school… funny, isn’t it?
