Da ex città industriale a località cool e stilosa
Ex industrial city that has now became cool and stylish

ENG: Manchester really impressed me a lot, I can’t find a better way to describe my two days experience.
It’s one of the most important economic, sporty and cultural centres of United Kingdom. Small, ideal for people that only have a short time, but also for who wants a more specific knowledge, since the city is really multifaceted. Her industrial inheritance is pretty clear and strong, the mix of old buildings and modern structures is a win-win and creates a very unique and balanced situation, making Manchester an interesting destination.

ENG: We staied at the Cow Hollow Hotel, a small Boutique Hotel in the Northern Quarter that has a prominent personality: we had a great time from check-in to check-out , the staff is young and absolutely available to any request, the rooms are not so big but full of every comfort and furnished in a cool way… I really perceived the style of the city.
As soon as we arrived we had a quick walk through the city, focusing on our district that offers a lot of unusual corners… mostly for street art.
Do you recognize the character of this wall?

ENG: A place that you can’t miss is the John Ryland’s library, one of the most famous spots of the city.
It’s in Deansgate, a quite heavily frequented street where you can mostly find skyscrapers and modern buildings.
The John Ryland’s Library is part of the Manchester University, admission is free and it’s open to visitors, being a place of research and studio for everyone. Among the relics exhibited the best one is the first edition of James Joyce “Ulisse”.

ENG: Walking for the streets of the city is very pleasant, the architecture really caught my eye: the glimpses of old buildings alongside the more moder ones create an interesting game of contrasts… overall the city centre is perfect to walk on foot.
Symbol of all of this is one of the places where we stopped for dinner, Mackie Mayor, recommended by Hannah of Visit Manchester. It’s a sort of indoor market, it is possible to choose among a lot of stands selling different kinds of food, then you sit at the table, near other people. The atmosphere is relaxing and funny, a real experience.
