My tips to stay in Rovaniemi.

 

 

ITA: Durante la nostra permanenza a Rovaniemi abbiamo alloggiato in un elegante chalet poco fuori città, Lapland Hotels. La posizione tranquilla è l’ideale per rilassarsi e per fare lunghe passeggiate in mezzo ai boschi, godendosi l’atmosfera lappone. Come da tradizione finlandese anche qui abbiamo avuto la sauna in camera, essenziale per rigenerarsi dopo una giornata movimentata e ricca di attività.
Un plauso particolare al pavimento riscaldato, che credo sia una delle invenzioni più belle del mondo!

ENG: During our days in Rovaniemi we staied in an elegant chalet just outside the city, Lapland Hotels. The peaceful position is ideal to relax and take long walksthrough the woods, enjoying the lappish atmosphere at his best. As is finnish tradition  in the chalet we also had our private sauna, which is essential to  regenerate yourself after a busy day full of activities.
Praise for the underfloor heating, which I think is one of the best inventions of the world!

ITA: Per quanto riguarda il cibo siamo andati alla scoperta dei sapori di queste terre, sperimentando anche nuovi gusti e abbinamenti insoliti, anche mixati con i prodotti tipici di altre cucine… il risultato mi è piaciuto moltissimo, piatti diversi e  inaspettati.
Frans & Chérie per esempio propone cucina francese con ingredienti finlandesi: le luci soffuse e l’atmosfera romantica saranno perfette per trascorrere una piacevole serata con il proprio partner.

ENG: Regarding the food we decided to discover the flavours of these lands, also  trying new tastes and unusual combinations, even mixed with typical products of other kitchens… I really liked the result, different and unexpected dishes.
Frans & Chérie for example is a relaxed French-style bistro with finnish ingredients: low lights and romantic atmosphere will be perfect for you to treasure a lovely evening with your partner.

ITA: Perfetto per  respirare appieno il sapore del nord sarà l’Hostel Cafe Koti. Ampio e  luminoso  con le bellissime vetrate che lo circondano, potete scegliere se accomodarvi al tavolo o se pranzare comodamente seduti su una sedia agganciata al soffitto. La proposta gastronomica riflette il posto, quindi via libera a zuppe, vellutate, verdure, semi e piatti green… sarà un pò come ritrovare casa lontano da casa.

ENG: The perfect place if you want to have a real taste of Northern countries will be Hostel Cafè Koti. Wide and bright with those lovely windows surrounding the building, you can  chose if seating at the table or maybe having lunch comfortably sitting on a hammock attached to the ceiling. The gastronomy speaks about the place, so green light to soups, vegetables, seeds and green dishes… it will be like finding home away from home.

ITA: Uno dei miei posti preferiti è stato sicuramente la Taqueria Yuca, uno stilosissimo ristorante di street food messicano. All’interno l’ambiente è un mix di atmosfere nordiche e dettagli messicani, anche il nome, Yuca, deriva proprio dallo Yucatan, lo stato omonimo da cui il locale è stato ispirato.
Ho ordinato una Burrito Bowl  e quello che mi è arrivato è stato un piacere, per gli occhi e per il palato. Vi consiglio assolutamente di farci un salto!

ENG: One of my fave places has been for sure the Taqueria Yuca, a super stylish mexican street food restaurant. Inside the rooms are a mix of nordic atmospheres and mexican details, even the name, Yuca, comes from Yucatan, the namesake state from which the restaurant has been inspired.
I ordered a Burrito Bowl and the food I got was a pleasure, for my eyes and for my mouth. I totally recommend you to go there!
